Reduction lino printing is a great way of making multi-coloured linocut prints built up in layers. It can be a confusing process for beginners so we're going to look at printing in just two colours. Once you learn how it works it's a hugely satisfying printing method that can make your artwork really pop! On day one we will look at the process and begin designing. You will carve and print your first layer so that it can dry overnight. On day two you will carve your second layer and print that over the first, completing your print. We'll use a simple registration technique to help you print both layers in the right place! You'll be amazed at how great your artwork looks and by the end of the weekend you'll have a little set of prints to take home. This course would suit anyone who has done a little lino printing before and wants to build up their skills. However, if you are a beginner and up for a challenge you are very much welcome too! Like all courses at Bristol Print Room this will be taught in small groups so you will have plenty of supervision and guidance throughout the course. Please note: Lunch is NOT included we will have a generous lunch breaks so that you can try the lovely lunch options in nearby Easton. You are welcome to bring you own food and eat in the studio but as this is an intensive course you are encouraged to take a little break outside too.
